BillWatch Cottage is a charming little mid-terrace cottage in a very small coastal community, that currently sleeps up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms.
Key Features:
Entering the ground floor, you come into a well equipped galley kitchen with tall fridge / freezer, full size dishwasher, single AEG oven and microwave.
This leads onto a bathroom with a shower over bath and heated towel rail.
The kitchen leads on to an open plan living / dining room with a cosy electric fire (a second real wood log burner is out in the garden room) plus 55" television.
The two double bedrooms are on the 1st floor. Bedroom 1 is a coastal view bedroom with direct southerly views over the sea, and a glimpse of the top of the lighthouse. This room has a double bed, plus a small ensuite toilet with small shower cubicle. The views from bed in the mornings can be stunning from this room, with the sun rising, and ships and sailing yachts going by.
Bedroom 2 on the rear side of the house has gorgeous countryside views, and looks towards the old Lighthouse in the distance, now known as the bird observatory.
Immediately outside the property is a small communal car park, with a parking space for each house.
Beyond the car park you'll come to our detached, private garden with a luxury garden room with the most incredible sea views, offering you another room for your use. Once you are in this room, it is hard to leave! Bi-fold doors open straight out onto decking, and weather dependant, the option to dine on the decking with views directly over the sea and the lighthouse. In good weather our outdoor sofa and sofa and cushions will be available.
The garden room is an entirely off grid room, with solar panels and batteries to provide electric. A small cosy Hobbit log burner is available for use when needed, and heats up the garden room in no time, which is well insulated. This room is able to be enjoyed all year long, even during a good Portland storm! A small kitchenette in here contains cups, plates and cutlery you might need for any exterior dining. A garden table and chairs is available in good weather for outdoor dining on the decking.
There is parking space allocated directly outside the cottage for 1 small / medium vehicle, plus options nearby for an additional or larger vehicle.
Please note: due to the age and quirkiness of the building, and fairly steep staircases, we wouldn’t recommend the property for anyone with mobility issues.
Cycling
If you wish to bring bicycles with you, these can be stored in the private enclosed garden, which are likely to be very safe, but please bring your own padlocks and chains to secure these.
Electric Vehicles
Sorry, no electric vehicles can be charged on site (at present) and guests must not attempt to charge by plugging a cable into the house. This is prohibited under the terms of our insurance.
The nearest places for electric vehicle charging are Tesco Superstore Portland (approximately 6 minute drive) and the Shell garage at the bottom of the island (approximately 12 minute drive)
